Body and Sole is a well established school in complementary therapy training. The school offers students the best possible training to obtain a Diploma in their chosen subject. Body and Sole caters for all students whether they are just beginning in therapies or whether they are already a qualified professional. All courses are accredited by The Federation of Holistic Therapies (FHT) and are taught by highly trained and experienced tutors. Situated on the edge of Lisburns city centre Body and Sole is easily accessible and is near both the M1 and M2 motorways .
The principal, Ruth Johnston recently retired after 39 years in the nursing profession and has spent the past 25 years complementing her profession with Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Reiki 11, Baby Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Cert. in Counselling skills and still continues to complete new courses regularly. Ruth has volunteered her skills for Marie Curie Cancer Care where she used her therapies to help terminally ill patients.
The school provides all equipment required to complete courses such as couches, stools, chairs and oils etc
Reflexology
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that balances all body systems following illness, stress or injury. It is an ancient healing art based on the principle that the body will, given the opportunity, heal itself and bring about a state of natural balance in order to function to it's full capacity. Every part of the body is reflected in the hands and feet and a trained reflexologist can work on the feet to help balance the body.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy is the control use of essential oils to maintain and / or improve the health of the mind, body and spirit. Each essential oil contains the active ingredients of a plant and has it's own therapeutic properties that have been proven by use through the ages and can be used to treat a wide range of ailments.
